5 Useful Tools for Entrepreneurs

Nowadays entrepreneurs have a great advantage: they can find anything online. If you have a new project, or an old one, and don't have the resources to hire a marketing agency or a bunch of new people for a marketing team, here are some very much needed tools to help you in lead generation and conversion, as well as in offering a better experience to your users.

#1 Google AdWords + Google Trends
Throw a rock and it will hit someone who “has heard” about Google AdWords. It is basically the way in which you put your paid for ads, as results on top of other people's Google searches. But some things are a bit unknown for people.

First and foremost, there are a lot of people profiting from teaching you how to use Google AdWords when Google itself has hours of tutorials and more than enough text to cover any doubt. The discipline of any entrepreneur would be enough to be self-taught. Those popular certifications people sell along with the courses are also free: you just need to pass the quiz that Google has in place after learning.

The real trick is to have a lot of content in your website, which should be SEO friendly and use AdWords with Trends. Google Trends is a service in which you write some search terms and see their popularity among searches. That is the way you should aim for a mix of the two. Before paying for each AdWords campaign, be sure to check Trends for the terms of interest, and be ready to create new content as needed.

#2 Unbounce
A/B testing is widely known among marketers: you basically show two (or more) versions of something, like a website or an email, and measure which gets the best response. Your objectives may vary between time spent on the site, conversion rate, click-through's, etc.

Unbounce helps you with this, without knowing anything about HTML coding. It lets you analyze interactions with every element in your test pages and has the option to integrate with Salesforce. They offer a 30-day free trial and after that, you can choose one of their plans which range from $49 USD to $199 USD.

#3 Qualaroo
This is the perfect companion for Unbounce or any other A/B testing tool. Qualaroo is a survey-focused tool that lets you integrate surveys into your website, at whichever point of your customers and leads time on it you choose.

You may want to ask about how they found out about you, what they would like you to offer, or why are they leaving without purchasing anything. If you have some A/B testing, this is a fine complement that can help you understand individual perceptions of your site and fine-tune it. It can also be integrated with a wide variety of CRMs.

#4 Facebook Ads
Yes, this is still a ting and yes, if you offer a B2C service or product, whatever it is, you need to be on Facebook. B2B sellers can use it too, but some may not find it as useful as some of the tools included before.

Having a “likable” page on Facebook (never do personal profiles for your brand) already gives you nice stats for free regarding traffic and engagement, among many others. The ads are a nice plus where you can choose to boost traffic to your page or click-through rates, as well as increase engagement or show a particular post.

Facebook is marvelous because it lets you show your ad to very specific audiences thanks to all of the information it has on its users, ranging from life events and personal music tastes, to geographical location, gender and age.

#5 Fiverr and Task Army
Just as Facebook pages, whatever you offer, you need content about it. Content marketing is not new, but it has more value than ever. You will probably won't have the time to create it yourself and these websites are a great place to find freelancers that can do the tasks you need, from editing videos and creating new logos, to audio transcriptions and article writing.

Enjoy these tools and look for some more according to your most specific need. Be sure to always look for free trials before committing to a monthly or yearly fee, and when you find the right one, never let it go.
